When I hear "everyone says that," it sometimes feels like it's true. Because if a lot of people are saying the same thing, it seems like they're right. There are many chances to run into information outside school too, especially while doing research, preparing presentations, or watching videos and social media.
A lot of people repeating something is not the same as evidence.
The same story may just be spreading.
Even if there is only one original piece of information, if it spreads, many people will say the same thing.
In other words, "everyone is saying it" may not mean there is a lot of evidence, but just the same story being repeated over and over again.
It is important to see the reason and origin.
What's important is not how many people are saying it, but what kind of reasons and evidence there are. It's much easier to judge if you see the original information.
Children who look at the evidence rather than the loudness of their voices are strong.
When you see a story that people are saying, try to find one original source.
At Digital Kodomo BASE, we are cultivating the ability to see the evidence rather than the spread. It is important not to get too carried away by the large number of people.
