A nonprofit in Ota City, Tokyo that gives children free access to computers, AI, and programming.
Some children have a computer at home that they can use freely when they want to try something. Others do not.
That difference becomes a difference in what they can try after school, what they can create, and what choices feel possible for the future.
Digitalization is advancing across all areas of society, making computers, the internet, and AI essential for children's learning and futures.
Yet the reality is that some children lack access to digital tools and learning opportunities due to their family's economic situation.
Digital Kodomo BASE was established to eliminate this "digital divide" and deliver learning opportunities to every child.
Even when schools provide devices, a child's experience changes greatly depending on whether they have a computer at home that they can use freely.
Differences in Home Digital Access
- Some children have few chances to use a PC at home
- They miss chances to research, write, and create
- Parents may not know how to teach digital skills
Experiences School Alone Cannot Provide
- Limited time to explore freely outside class
- Few chances to try video editing or AI tools
- Not enough room to fail, revise, and try again
An Entry Point to the AI Era
- Keyboard use and file management are foundations
- Using AI well also requires basic PC skills
- Early experience expands future options
We want to turn this gap into something the community helps close, rather than leaving it to children and families to solve alone.
We are more than just an organization that teaches IT skills.
We aim to spread this new community model from Ota City to all of Japan.
We host events where children can learn while having fun — emphasizing "try it first" and "just do it."

When a child touches a computer for the first time, types their own words, and makes something move on the screen, digital tools shift from something they watch to something they can create with.
We accept donated PCs from companies and community members, refurbish and configure them, then deliver them to children in need.
When one computer reaches a child, they can practice typing at home, organize what they research, and try programming or AI tools. It creates time after school to explore on their own.

We are building a place where children can gather, learn, and connect with each other safely after school and on weekends.
Beyond digital learning, we foster cross-generational connections through interaction with local adults and volunteers.
Having an adult they can ask, and peers who are trying alongside them, gives children the support they need to take the next step.
Digital Kodomo BASE is supported by community members, businesses, and volunteers.
