When you think of a strong person, you may think of someone who can do everything on their own or someone who never cries. But the people who are truly strong in life aren't the ones who are always calm.
Truly strong people have a way to rebuild themselves when they are in trouble. Rest when you're tired. When you don't understand, ask. Correct me if I make a mistake. When you feel overwhelmed, talk to someone you trust. These actions are not something you do because you are weak. It is the power to take care of yourself.
Strength is not just enduring
If you keep enduring difficult things by yourself, your mind and body will become difficult to move. If your computer becomes slow, restart it or close unnecessary screens. It's the same with people; resting allows them to move again.
The strength to ask for help
People who can say, "Help me," "I don't understand this," or "Wait a minute," are looking at their own situation. This is an important power. Just as you would show someone an error in programming and ask for advice, if you tell them where you are having trouble in your life, it becomes easier to find a way to fix it.
Think of one person you can talk to if you have a problem, and write down their name.
At Digital Kodomo BASE, we create a place where children can feel safe trying things out, failing, and listening. Truly strong people are those who don't carry things alone and have a way to move forward.
