I'm afraid of pressing new buttons and changing settings. When using a computer, there are times when you stop working because something seems to be breaking.
Avoiding every unfamiliar button keeps computers scary. It is much easier to learn when you know you can try something and undo it if needed.
Easy to remember if you try
Sometimes it's easier to remember something if you try it out yourself rather than just reading the explanation. Because when you see with your own eyes what changes, your understanding deepens.
Of course, this doesn't mean you can change everything at will. But if you know you can get it back, you won't have to worry about it unnecessarily.
Caution and challenge can coexist
The important thing is not to rush, but to try a little at a time. Look before you change, try just one thing, and if it doesn't work, change back. This will make learning safer and easier.
The child who can take on challenges is not the child who is not afraid, but the child who knows how to return.
Try making one small change to a setting or display, and then work your way back to undoing it.
At Digital Kodomo BASE, we value being able to learn while going back rather than not making mistakes. Children who can try it will grow.
