Images and Videos Are Not Always True

When you have photos and videos, it's easier to believe that something is true because you saw it. That is because you feel it more strongly than the written word, so it's easier to believe.

A picture or video may feel convincing, but that does not automatically make it true.

It also depends on how you cut it

Even if a scene really happened, the meaning may change if you cut out only a part of it. If you can't see the front and back, you may get a different impression.

AI images and edited videos can make things look real even when they didn't occur in the first place.

Don't decide based on looks alone

When you see an image or video, look to see where it came from, who created it, and if there are other similar scenes.

It is important not to be too drawn to the appearance of strength.

What you can do today
When you see a video or image that interests you, try searching for its original source.

At Digital Kodomo BASE, we are developing children's ability to distinguish not only text, but also images and videos. Just because you see it doesn't mean it's true.
