What happens when you press a button, why does an image appear there, and where does a sound come from? Things that may seem obvious when you just use them, but when you make them, there is a reason for each one.
Once you understand how it works, it becomes less scary.
When you become less "somehow", it becomes easier to approach new tools. If you just know a little bit about how things work, you will feel less afraid of things you don't understand.
Look at the screens you use regularly and think, "How does this work?"
