When you fight with a brother or sister, you usually think the other one is wrong.
They are thinking exactly the same thing. Even in the same event, you each saw a different part. Neither of you is lying, and still the stories don't match.
Listen First, Finish Sooner
You want to say your side first, but when you listen first, the fight gets shorter. Someone who has been heard can start hearing you.
You don't have to decide who was right. Finding one part where you can say "sorry about that" is enough to end it.
Practice You Can Do at Home
Fights at home are practice for people outside, too. The way you learn to finish them works with friends as well.
Changing how you say something changes how it lands. Dropping "always" and "never" makes it easier for the other person to listen.
It won't go well every time. If you can change one thing next time, you're moving.
After a fight, write down just one point the other person was making.
At Digital Kodomo BASE, we care more about how you finish an argument than who wins it.
