When you want something gone, there are things you can do and things you can't.
Posts on your own account, you can delete. You can also stop sharing photos and videos.
What You Can't Remove Yourself
Images others saved, copies posted on other sites, entries left in search results. None of these respond to your delete button.
Some services have a place to request removal. Depending on the content, such as your name or address appearing, they may act on it.
Don't Carry It Alone
The moment you find something you can't remove, tell an adult at home or a teacher. Keeping a record of messages speeds things up.
Confronting the person angrily tends to make it worse. Showing an adult first usually ends it sooner. Keep the messages; don't delete them.
If you find something you can't delete, save the screen and show an adult at home.
At Digital Kodomo BASE, we value asking for help instead of carrying it alone.
