教科書の中心語と関連語をセットで増やす
中3英語では、単語を「意味だけ」で覚えると長文で止まりやすくなります。中心語を、文法の型と一緒に覚えることで、読解・英作文・面接練習まで使える語彙になります。
単語を文で使う練習
本文で使えるチャンクとして、次の英文を音読し、太字の語句を別の単語に入れ替えてください。中3では、1文が長くなるので、まずは短いチャンクで型を作るのが近道です。

- 1回目：英文だけを見て読む。
- 2回目：日本語を確認して、主語・動詞・修飾語に分ける。
- 3回目：主語、場所、目的語を入れ替えて自分の文にする。
読解で出る語形・言い換え
長文では、単語がそのまま出るだけでなく、語形変化や言い換えで出ます。次の形まで見ておくと、本文中で止まりにくくなります。
- a thing which ...：ものを説明する基本形。
- the book which I read：目的格の which。省略されることもある。
- be famous for：〜で有名である。
- protect the environment：環境を守る。
- be useful for ...ing：〜するのに役立つ。
ミニ読解で確認
単語を覚えたら、短い本文の中で意味を取ります。知らない語が1つあっても、主語・動詞・説明部分を分ければ読み進められます。
