能動態と受動態の書き換え
能動:He wrote this letter.
受動:This letter was written by him.
① 能動の 目的語 → 受動の主語
② 動詞 → be動詞 + 過去分詞(時制を合わせる)
③ 能動の主語 → by +目的格(he → him)
時制ごとの受動態

- 誰がやったか 重要でないとき → by 省略
- 例:This temple was built in 1300.
- 誰によってかが分かりきっている/重要でないとき省略
否定文と疑問文
This book is not read by many.

Is English spoken here? — Yes, it is.

by 以外の前置詞を使う表現
- be known to:〜に知られている
- be made of(材料の見た目が分かる)/from(変化して分からない)
- be interested in:〜に興味がある
- be covered with:〜でおおわれている
- be surprised at:〜に驚く

受動態でよく使う場面
→ 動作の 対象(受け手)を主役にしたい
→ 動作の主が 不明・重要でない
→ 一般的な事実を述べたい
例:This temple was built in the 8th century.
例:Japanese is spoken in Japan.
例:The book was written in 1980.
受動態と能動態の使い分け
- 能動態:誰がやったかが大事
- 受動態:何がされたかが大事
- 科学・歴史・客観的事実 → 受動態が多い
- 日常会話 → 能動態が多い
- 「誰が」を強調したくないとき → by を省略した受動態
SVOO の受動態(中3応用)
能動:He gave me a book.(彼は私に本をくれた)
受動①:I was given a book by him.(人を主語に)
受動②:A book was given to me by him.(物を主語に)
→ どちらでも可能だが、人を主語にすることが多い
- 受動態は 過去分詞が命。不規則動詞は確実に。
- 例:write → wrote → written、break → broke → broken、see → saw → seen
- 「過去形」と「過去分詞」は違うこともある。混同しない。
- 受動態の時制は be動詞で決まる(過去分詞ではない)
- 過去:was/were + p.p.
- 現在:am/is/are + p.p.
- 未来:will be + p.p.
- 「過去分詞」は時制ではなく「受動」を示す
- be made of(材料の形が残る)/from(変化)
- be known to(〜に知られている)
- be interested in(〜に興味がある)
- be covered with(〜でおおわれている)
- 慣用表現として丸ごと覚える
